Surgery clinics

We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

  • Carers – visit our carers section for information about registering a carer.
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Dressings
  • Family planning
    • Both doctors and nurses offer contraceptive services. Guidance on the best method of contraception for you is given and these include the pill, contraceptive injections/implants, caps and coils, patches or condoms. Emergency contraception is also part of the service.
  • HRT advice
  • Smoking cessation
    • Help with smoking cessation includes one to one consultations over an average period of twelve weeks. During this time, you will receive advice and support from one of our experienced practice nurses as well as undergoing nicotine replacement therapy.
  • Ear syringing
  • Asthma advice and management
  • Diabetic advice and management
  • Travel vaccinations
    • If you are travelling abroad please make sure you contact us in plenty of time to arrange any vaccinations that may be necessary. To help the travel nurses assess your travel needs it is important that they are in receipt of the travel risk assessment form before your appointment.
  • Cholesterol checks
  • Antenatal clinic – alternate Wednesdays from midday
  • Baby clinic – alternate Mondays from 2pm to 3pm
  • Child health surveillance services
  • Minor surgery
  • Cervical cytology (smear tests)
    • To reduce the risk of cervical cancer, smear tests should be performed every 3 years (unless otherwise indicated by the doctors) between the ages of 25 to 65. You will be informed by computerised letter that your smear is due. Smears can be done at the surgery by the nurse and appointments can be made via our appointments page.
  • Free chlamydia test
    • If you are between the ages of 15 to 25 you can have a free chlamydia test. This is done on a urine sample. The results are confidential and can be sent to your mobile phone. Ask the doctors, advanced nurse practitioners or nurses for the test.
  • Flu vaccinations
    • Flu vaccinations are carried out each year for certain at risk groups.
  • Hospital based services
    • We use the hospital based services provided by the James Paget Hospital NHS Trust and the Norfolk and Norwich NHS Trust, as well as the community services provided by the Local Health Partnerships NHS Trust. Certain specialist services are provided at other hospitals in Cambridge and London.
  • Phlebotomist surgeries
    • For blood tests, blood pressure tests, ECGs, urine tests.

Please leave these with reception and they will be ready for collection usually within 10 working days. A fee is payable in advance.
